What is Planned Maintenance System (PMS)?

The structured system a ship operator uses to plan, execute and record maintenance on every item of equipment.

A Planned Maintenance System combines an equipment hierarchy, a library of standard jobs with schedules, and the work orders generated from them. It is the primary way most fleets demonstrate that ships and equipment are maintained in line with the ISM Code and class requirements.

Modern PMS software adds offline operation on board, synchronisation with shore, approval workflows and analytics.
